Travel to Israel

The best way to travel to Israel is by air. There are regular direct flights from major cities in Europe and North America, as well as from a number of Asian cities to Tel Aviv, Ben-Gurion International Airport.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available at the airport. They operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a private or shared service. 

Taxis can be found right outside the Arrival Hall of the airport.

Taxi services are regulated and the Taxi companies at Ben Gurion Airport operate under permission.

The cost of the taxi is about 150 NIS on daytime and 170 NIS on nighttime.

Train

The train station is located on Level S of the Landside Building, adjacent to the Arrival Hall. The train will take you to the Hagana Station in Tel Aviv from where you will need a Taxi to reach the hotel. The cost of the train is about 15 NIS and the cost of the Taxi is about 40 NIS.

Bus

Public transportation services are located in the three-storey bridge on the second floor, next to Gates 21 and 23. Line 476 run from Ben-Gurion International Airport, Terminal 3, to the Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv from where you will need a Taxi to reach the hotel.  The cost of the bus is about 10 NIS and the cost of the Taxi is about 40 NIS.

Car Rental

The car rental companies’ counters are located on the first floor of the East Gallery in the Arrival Hall. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

General

  • Electricity: 220 V, 50 Hz with the following socket/plug standards: CEE 7/16 and SI32.
  • Money: Israel’s currency is the New Israel Shekel (NIS) or shekel for short. Major credit cards – American Express, Diners, Visa, Mastercard/Access/Eurocard – are widely accepted.
  • Tap water: Safe to drink.
  • Telephone: Public phones are extremely rare. Use your own mobile phone. You can buy a prepaid SIM card if needed.
  • Tipping: The going rate for tipping in Israeli restaurants and cafes is between 10-15%. Taxi drivers do not expect to be tipped (or at least - they are not surprised by non-tippers. Locals do not tip in taxis).
